Born Hull 1891. Eldest son of George Moses Miles (1862-1945) and Ada Miles, of 14, Laburnum Avenue, Garden Village, Hull (War Pension address). Second of five children. He had two brothers and two sisters. His father was a starch packer for Reckitt’s. He worked as a sugar mill packer.
He enlisted in Hull. Served as Private, 220058, 1/4th East Yorkshire Regiment. Killed in Action, on 27/06/1917, aged 26. He is commemorated on the Arras Memorial to the missing.
His army effects were left to his mother, Ada, at this address.
