Hull City Policeman. Nephew of Mrs Mancaster, of 3 Wyndham Street, Hull. Son of George and Elizabeth Mitchell, of 7, Bridge Street, York, 9 Cecilia Place, Holgate Road, York and 6 Minstergate, York (War Pension Addresses).
He served with the 3rd Coldstream Guards, had been at the front for one year and eight months. Killed in action, on 15/09/1916, aged 24. His death was reported in the Hull Daily Mail, on 01/12/1916. &
