EMPLOYED AS A SHIPPING OFFICE CLERK. ENLISTED HULL. COMMISSION TO THE LEWIS GUN SECTION. DIED OF WOUNDS AT ETAPLES HOSPITAL ON 04/11/1918, AGED 27. HIS WIFE LIVED AT THIS ADDRESS. HE IS BURIED AT ETAPLES MILITARY CEMETERY, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THAT HE LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS”.
