BORN HULL 1894. ELDEST SON OF GEORGE & ANNIE MORRIS, OF 2, WARNE TERRACE, SUTTON STREET, HULL. HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND ONE SISTER, DORA HELENA.

HE WORKED AS A HOTEL WAITER.

HE ENLISTED AT BEVERLEY. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 316490, NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS. TRANSFERRED TO THE 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 26/08/1918, AGED 27. HE IS BURIED ON THE SOMME, FRANCE. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, ANNIE, AT 77, HARROW STREET, HESSLE ROAD, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). SHE WAS AWARDED A WEEKLY WAR PENSION OF 10 SHILLINGS, ON 5TH APRIL 1919.

HIS SECOND BROTHER, PRIVATE, ERNEST MORRIS, 22700, 8TH EYR, WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 18/08/1916, AGED 24. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE THEIPVAL MEMORIAL, FRANCE. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, GEORGE.

HIS THIRD BROTHER, SIDNEY, 201472, ALSO SERVED IN THE EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT.
