Born Hull, 1888. Son of Edward Morton (1840-1890) and Rose Hunter (1850-1916). His mother remarried and lived at 5, Main Street, Hull (1911 Census). He had three brothers and a sister, plus half sibblings. He worked as a General labourer.
He married at Hull in 1911. Husband of Alice Barwick (1890-1967) of 4, Clive Terrace Lincoln Street, Hull (1911 Census) and 53, Barmston Street, Hull (War Pension address). They had one daughter, Rose (1911-2000).
He served with the Durham Light Infantry. Died at Hull, on 13 Jan 1921, aged 32.
His widow, Alice married Sergeant, Walter Shields (1890-1924), 30748, Machine Gun Corps, in 1923 and had a son, Walter Shields.
