BORN BROUGH, 1892. ONLY SON OF WALTER MOXON (1857-1921) & CLARA GERTRUDE JEFFERSON (1856-1944), OF “DUNEDIN HOUSE”, PATRINGTON AND “THE OUTPOST”, SLEIGHTS, YORKS. (HDM 22/10/1918 ADDRESS). HE HAD FOUR SISTERS. WAS EDUCATED AT HULL’S HYMER COLLEGE. WORKED AS A LAW STUDENT AND FARM PUPIL, LIVING AT “DUNEDIN”, PATRINGTON (1911 CENSUS). DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 9.5 INCHES TALL, 158 LBS WEIGHT, FAIR HAIR, BLUE EYES, CHURCH OF ENGLAND RELIGION.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 18/09/1914. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 1740 EAST RIDING YEOMANRY. POSTED TO THE MEDITTERANEAN ON 21/09/1916. TRANSFERRED TO THE 2ND CHESHIRE REGIMENT. DIED OF INFLUENCA AND DYSENTERY AT SALONIKA, GENERAL HOSPITAL, ON 12/10/1918, AGED 25. BURIED IN GREECE. HE HAD SERVED IN THE ARMY FOR 4 YEARS AND 25 DAYS.

UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, CLARA, WHO HAD NOT SEEN HIM FOR TWO YEARS.. HE IS COMMORATED ON THE PATRINGTON WW1 MEMORIAL AND AT ST PATRICK’S CHURCH, PATRINGTON.
