BORN GRAVESEND, KENT 1894. SON OF WILLIAM MYERS (1862-1921) & SARAH ELIZABETH MILNER (1866-1944), OF 17, WOLLATON AVENUE, DANSOM LANE, HULL . SON OF A RAILWAY PLATELAYER, WHO HAD WORKED IN GRAVESEND, KENT. HE HAD FIVE BROTHERS AND SEVEN SISTERS. EMPLOYED AS A DOCK LABOURER (1911 CENSUS) AND AN ASSISTANT TEACHER AT YORK BARRACKS.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS A SERGEANT, IN THE 1ST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. HE WAS ONLY AT THE FRONT FOR A MONTH BEFORE HE WAS KILLED, ON 28/10/1914, AGED 20. HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE DANSOM LANE MEMORIAL, HULL
HE IS PHOTOGRAPHED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 4TH NOVEMBER 1914 WITH HIS BROTHERS GEORGE & JAMES MYERS WHO ALSO SERVED.* HIS DEATH IS REPORTED WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH ON 27TH NOVEMBER 1914. *
HIS OLDER BROTHER, GEORGE MYERS, 3RD EYR, WAS ALSO KILLED IN THE WAR.
