LEFT ADELAIDE, ON THE SS ‘AFRIC’ ON 26/05/1915. SERVED WITH THE 9TH AUSTRALIAN LIGHT HOUSE. LANDED AT GALLIPOLI, ON 05/08/1915. EVACUATED ON 27/12/1915. TRAINED AS A SIGNALLER, AT HELIOPOLIS, FROM 08/01/1916. KILLED DURING THE WITHDRAWAL FROM ATAWEINAH, NEAR GAZA, ON 19/04/1917, AGED 21. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, JOHN, IN ENGLAND.
