Born Warrington, 1873. Son of Thomas Forster Nevins and Mary Nevins, of Warrington; husband of Jane Nevins (1876-1962), of 18, Marson St., Warrington (CWGC address) and 33, Malm Street, Boulevard, Hull (War Pension address). He had served in the Imperial Yeomanry during the South African War and was discharged wounded on 11/08/1902.
Enlisted at Sheffield. Served as Acting Corporal in the Royal Army Service Corps, base Motor Transport. Died of dysentery at Imtarfa Military Hospital, Malta, on 11/12/1917, aged 44. He left £658 in his will to his widow, Jane AT 33, Malm Street, Hull (Probate address).
Their son, Private, Thomas Forster Nevins, 9222, 7th EYR, was killed in action, on 31/03/1918, aged 22, and is buried at Bouzincourt Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, France.
