Born Roundhay, Leeds, 1895. Son of Robert Wrigley Nichols and Emily Nicholls, of 15 Belvue Avenue, North Lane, Roundhay, Leeds. Worked at Leeds City, Electric & Gas Lighting Works (1911 Census). He enlisted at Hull. Served with the 10th West Yorkshire Regiment. Killed in action, on 30/10/1916, aged 21. Buried at Deville Wood Cemetery, Somme, France.
His army effects were left to his mother, Hannah. His war Pension went to his brother, Walter Nicholls, at 4, Fulham Place, Beeston, Leeds (War Pension address).
