BORN FLAMBOROUGH 1895. SON OF THOMAS OGLE (1866-1927) & HANNAH CHADWICK (1864-1936). ONE OF SIX CHILDREN AT THIS CWGC ADDRESS. EMPLOYED AS A COPPERSMITH (1911 CENSUS) AND AS A CHAIN HORSE LAD FOR THE NORTH EASTERN RAILWAYS, HE JOINED THE COMPANY IN JANUARY 1914. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 9 INCHES TALL, 35 INCH CHEST. ENLISTED IN JANUARY 1916. SERVED AS A RIFLEMAN IN THE KING’S ROYAL RIFLE CORPS. DIED OF INFLUENZA, AT BIRKENHEAD, LIVERPOOL, ON 24/11/1918, AGED 23. BURIED AT HULL WESTERN CEMETERY. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE FLAMBOROUGH VILLAGE MEMORIAL.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED WITH OTHER RAILWAY WORKERS IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 07/12/1919.
