HUSBAND OF GERTRUDE & FIVE CHILDREN, AT 7, IVYDENE, PARROT STREET, HULL, (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE WAS A PLATE LAYER FOR THE NORTH EASTERN RAILWAYS.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 25697, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 24TH NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS (1ST TYNSIDE IRISH BATTALION). DIED ON 09/04/1917, AGED 37. COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL, FRANCE.
HIS WIDOW, GERTRUDE WAS AWARDED A WEEKLY WAR PENSION, OF 31 SHILLINGS AND THREE PENCE, ON 10TH DECEMBER 1917. HER FIVE CHILDREN WERE CLARA, CHARLES, HARRY, ALBERT AND ARTHUR.
