ONE OF EIGHT SONS SERVING. ONE MISSING AND ANOTHER WOUNDED. EMPLOYED AS A BRICKLAYER’S LABOURER, FOR LOWS CHEMICAL WORKS, REDDISH, NEAR STOCKPORT FOR SIX WEEKS WHEN WAR BEGAN..

RICHARD EDWIN PARKER, ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 01/01/1917. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 7.5 INCHES TALL, 36 INCHEST CHEST SIZE, 51 LBS WEIGHT, ROMAN CATHOLIC. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 29/10/1917.. SERVED IN THE 16TH CHESHIRE REGIMENT. HE DIED ON HIS 30TH BIRTHDAY, ON 23/03/1918.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 06/06/1918. *

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, WHO MOVED TO 43 WAVERLEY STREET, HULL (PENSION ADDRESS).
