BORN HULL 1892. DAIRYCOATES. SON OF JOHN THOMAS PARKER, OF 29 PARKER AVENUE, BRACEBRIDGE, LINCOLNSHIRE. A FORMER BRICKLAYER’S LABOURER. HE ENLISTED AT HULL, ON 18/07/1910. SERVED AS A PROFESSIONAL SOLDIER. FOR FOUR YEARS WITH THE 1ST WEST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT AND WAS SENT TO FRANCE AT THE OUTBREAK OF WAR. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 20/09/1914, AGED 22. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER.
HE WAS THE FIRST REPORTED DEATH OF A HULL MAN, IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 09/11/1914.
HIS DEATH AND ADDRESS WERE REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 19TH NOVEMBER 1914.
