Born Hull, 1898. Second son of John George Parks and Margaret Parks, of 92, Thomas Street, Hedon Road, Hull & 6, Granby Villa, Hedon Road, Hull (1921 Census & War Pension address).
He enlisted at Londesborough Barracks, Hull on 18 May 1915. Described as 5 foot, 3.5 inches tall, 122 lbs weight, 33 inch chest. declared his age as 16 years and 8 months, working as a Railway checker.
Served with the 2nd East Riding Royal Garrison Artillery. Discharged on 9 May 1919, with acute Myalgia, shell shock, sleeplessness, prone to fits and unable to work.
After the war, he worked as a Machinery Attendant for the North East Railways, at King George Dock, Hull. He was unable to work for more than a month without a break, due to nerves and breathlessness. He died of Tuberculosis in both lungs, on 19 March 1923, aged 24.
