BORN HULL 1885. ONLY SON OF JAMES PARROTT (1841-1886) AND ELIZABETH RANDS (1850-1934), OF 6, ARLINGTON TERRACE, CLIFTON STREET, HULL. HARRY WAS THE YOUNGEST OF FIVE CHILDREN AND HAD FOUR OLDER SISTERS (IDA, ANY, LENORA AND ZOE). HIS MOTHER WAS WIDOWED IN 1886 WHEN HARRY WAS ONE YEAR OLD. HIS FATHER, JAME HAD BEEN A POLICE INSPECTOR IN HULL WHEN HE DIED.
A PROFESSIONAL SOLDIER AND SERVING WHEN WAR BEGAN. HARRY WAS POSTED TO FRANCE, WITH THE 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, ON 08/09/1914. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, SIX WEEKS LATER, ON 20/10/1914, AGED 29. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFTTO HIS MOTHER AND BROTHER IN LAW, GEORGE M. GALL.
HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL, BELGIUM
