BORN HULL 14/11/1894. SON OF CHRISTINA & THE LATE JOHN PATTISON, OF 2 LORRAINE STREET, STONEFERRY. ENLISTED HULL 26/01/1916. SERVED IN IRELAND IN APRIL 1916. POSTED TO FRANCE SEPTEMBER 1916, WHERE HE WAS WOUNDED AND INVALIDED TO ENGLAND. HE ACCIDENTALLY DROWNED IN THE BATHURST BASIN, BRISTOL, ON 7/02/1918. HE WAS EXPECTING TO BE DISCHARGED FROM HOSPITAL THE FOLLOWING DAY. AN INQUEST WAS HELD INTO HIS DEATH AND PROTECTION BARRIERS WERE ERECTED WHERE SEVERAL PEOPLE, INCLUDED A HULL POST WOMEN HAD RECENTLY DROWNED. HE IS REMEMBERED ON THE STONEFERRY ROH SUTTON. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 15TH FEBRUARY 1918, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *.
HE IS BURIED AT HULL NORTHERN CEMETERY, AGED 23. HIS DEATH IS LISTED IN THE DE RUVIGNY ROLL OF HONOUR, VOLUME 4.
