HE ENLISTED AT HULL. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 1679, 1/4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 24/05/1916, AGED 18, AT NO 3 CASUALTY CLEARING STATION, BAILLEUL. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, MARTHA.
