Born Market Weighton, 1891. Son of Elizabeth Pollard, of 48, Wheeler Street, Hull (War Pension address). Son of a retired Postman. He had six brothers and three sisters. He worked for the North Eastern Railways.
He enlisted at Market Weighton. Served with the 5th Yorkshire Regiment. Died a Prisoner of War, at the Marne, on 17/09/1918, aged 27.
His elder brothers, John William Pollard, served in the Royal Navy, Albert Fenwick Pollard, served in the 3rd East Yorkshire Regiment, and George Henry Pollard, served in the Royal Army Medical Corps.
