Born Walthamstow, Essex,, 1889. Son of the late Charles Mark and Amelia Sarah Poole, of 420, Beverley Road, Hull (War Pension address). Son a Clerk, born in Lincolm. His mother was boarn in Deptford, Kent. His siblings were born in London. He was a Butcher Assistant, living at 38 Worthing St Hull (1911 Census).
Served in the 1/6th Northumberland Fusiliers. Killed in action, on 1st August 1916, aged 28. Commemorated on the Ypres Menin Gate Memorial, Belgium.
His army effects were left to his mother, Sarah and elder brother, Frederick serving in the Royal Garrison Artillery. Hi mother moved to 20, Conway Street, Hull.
