A Farm Horseman. Described as 5 foot, 8.5 inches tall, 135 lbs weight, 39-41.5 inch chest, blue eyes, light brown hair, and Church of England religion.

He enlisted in Hull, on 25th July 1913, as a wagoner, in the Army Service Corps. Transferred to “C” Bty. 251st Bde., Royal Field Artillery. Killed in action, on 23/04/1917, aged 24. Buried at Hibers Trench British Cemetery. His army effect were left to his mother, Mary.
