BORN HULL 1897. SON OF PETER POULSEN (1857-1902) HIS MOTHER CLARA EMILY PETFIELD LIVED AT 6 BLANCHE GROVE, BRIGHTON STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). ONE OF NINE CHILDREN INCLUDING SIX SISTERS. LOST AT SEA ON THE TRAWLER “JERSEY”. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 17TH FEBRUARY 1916 WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. * HIS BROTHER ARTHUR FREDERICK POULSEN, OF THE TRAWLR “MALABAR”, ALSO DIED AT SEA, ON 03/01/1916, AGED 16.
On November 5th, 1915, the Hull steam trawler JERSEY (H270), built in 1895 by Cochrane & Sons Shipbuilders Ltd. and owned at the time of her loss by Hull Steam Fishing & Ice Co. Ltd., left Hull for a North Sea fishing trip, and went missing along with all her crew. She was not heard of ever since. No survivors. PEOPLE ON BOARD FV JERSEY123
