Born Hull 1899. Third son of James Rawson (1865-1938) and Sarah Elizabeth Ness (1867-1949), of 2 Woodall Street, East Hull. Worked at Simpson’s farm, Stoneferry, Hull. He enlisted in Hull. Formerly, Private, Tr/5/105171, Territorial reserves. Transferred to the 9th Northumberland Fusiliers. Wounded on 11/04/1918 and 17/06/1918. Killed in action, at Selle, on 24/10/1918, aged 19. Buried at Romeries Communal Cemetry Extension, Nord, France.
His brother John Robert Rawson served in the Tank Corps and Frank Rawson, (Yorkshire regiment) was a prisoner of war.
