BORN HULL 1885. SON OF THOMAS WILLIAM RICHARDSON ( 1854-1911) & ANNIE ELIZABETH ETHERINGTON. OF 5, WARNE TERRACE, HODGSON STREET, HULL. HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND THREE SISTERS. EMPLOYED AS A HORSEMAN. HE MARRIED JANE ELIZABETH ROBINSON, AT ST PETER CHURCH, HULL, ON 14/12/1905. HIS WIFE JANE AND FIVE CHILDREN LIVED AT 7 APPLEYARDS BUILDINGS, OSBORNE STREET, HULL AND 2, BROWNS COURT, JENNINGS STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).

HE ENLISTED AT BEVERLEY, ON 04/07/1916, AGED 31 YEARS AND 6 MONTHS. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 6.5 INCHES TALL, 35 INCH CHEST, A SCAR ON THE BACK OF HIS NECK. SERVED AS GUNNER, 26311, ROYAL FILED ARTILLERY. TRANSFERRED TO THE AGRICULTURE LABOUR CORPS. TAKEN TO RECKITTS HOSPITAL, HULL. HE DIED OF BRONCHITIS, FOLLOWING INFLUENZA, ON 13/12/1918, AGED 32.
HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE HULL CITY ENGINEERS MEMORIAL, PARK STREET, HULL. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW JANE, WHO MOVED TO BROWNS COURT, JENNINGS STREET, 3 STRAWBERRY STREET, CHAPMAN STREET, HULL AND THEN THIS ADDRESS.
BURIED AT HULL’S HEDON ROAD CEMETERY. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “GOD CALLED TO REST ONE OF THE BEST”.
HIS DAUGHTER GLADYS, DIED OF INFLUENZA, IN DECEMBER 1918 AGED 3. HIS SON JOHN, DIED IN HULL, IN 1941
