Only son of parents at 45 Dansom Lane, Hull. He had emigrated to Canada eight years ago. He enlisted there, and served with the 16th Canadian Expeditionary Force (CEF). Awarded the Military Medal (MM) for bravery. He was killed in action, on 28/04/1917, aged 28. His death was reported in the Hull Daily Mail, on 11/05/1917, with a young looking photograph of him.
