BORN HULL 1894. SON OF TOM RICHARDSON & MARY SNOWDEN, AT 7, HARRIETS TERRACE, EASTBOURNE STREET, HULL (1918 VOTERS ADDRESS). ONE OF EIGHT CHILDREN. HIS FATHER WORKED IN AN IRON FOUNDRY. PRIOR TO THE WAR HE WORKED ON THE HULL FISH DOCK AND LIVED WITH HIS MOTHER AT THIS ADDRESS.
HE ENLISTED AT HULL, IN 1914. SERVED WITH THE 13TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT (4TH HULL PALS) AND TRANSFERRED AS PRIVATE, 60346, TYNESIDE SCOTS. REPORTED MISSING AND THEN TAKEN PRISONER, IN APRIL 1918. DIED IN GERMANY, AS A PRISONER OF WAR, ON 24/10/1918, AGED 24. HE WAS BURIED AT COLOGNE SOUTHERN CEMETERY, GERMANY. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 30/10/1919.
HIS PARENTS APPEALED FOR MORE INFORMATION IN THE HDM, ON 21/01/1919. HE LEFT TWO BROTHERS AND FIVE SISTERS.
HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE WW1 MEMORIAL, AT ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, NEWINGTON, HULL.
