Rimmington, George Henry

Born 1883. Previously served in the 3rd East Yorkshire regiment, time expired, Dec 1907.

Worked as a Labourer. Described as 5 foot, 8.5 inches tall, 35-37 inch chest, “Good” character.

Married at Thornton Hall, Hull, on 1 Jul 1911. husband of Edith Matilda Halderson, of 65, Cecil Street, Hull (war pension address). They had one son Frederick, born on 4 May 1912.

Enlisted at Hull on 6 Dec 1915. Mobilized on 26 June 1917. Served in the 2/4th, York and Lancaster Regiment. Wounded in the face and right arm, on 27 April 1918. Discharged on 17 Dec 1918, after 3 years and 12 days army service. He requested a Silver War Badge, but there is no record that this was issued. He died on 15 Feb 1924, aged 40.
