Born Pocklington, 1887. Son of John Cundy Rippon and Mary Ann Rippon, of 9, Church Lane Pocklington (1911 Census). Son of a shoemaker. He had three brothers and three sisters. Worked as a postman.
Married on 22/10/1913.His wife Amy, and two children, Annie and Wilfred, lived at Field View, Perry Road, Pocklington and 64, St Johns Grove, Hull (War Pension addresses).
He enlisted at Darlington. Formerly 3666, Yorks Regiment. Transferred as Private, 34339, Machine Gun Corps (Infantry), 133rd Coy. Died of wounds, on 25/03/1917, aged 29.
Buried at Baghdad, Iraq.
