Roginson, Edwin

BORN SUNK ISLAND, PATRINGTON, 1875. SON LATE WILLIAM ROGINSON (1836-1908) & MARTHA ATKINSON 91842-1924), OF 44, BELVOIR STREET, PRINCES AVENUE, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND ONE SISTER. WORKED AS A TRAMWAY CONDUCTOR.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION AT THE SOMME, ON 16TH SEPTEMBER 1916. HE WAS 40 YEARS OLD.

UNMARRIED. HE LEFT £447 IN HIS WILL TO HIS SISTER, LILLIAN. HIS BODY WAS NOT RECOVERED AND IS COMMEMORATED AT THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
