ENLISTED HULL. SERVED AS A SERGEANT, IN THE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. DIED OF WOUNDS ON 02/10/1915, AGED 24. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH ON 16TH DECEMBER 1915. *
HE IS LISTED ON THE SOMERSET STREET SHRINE.
HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE SHARED BETWEEN HIS MOTHER ELIZABETH, HIS SISTERS AMY AND GLADYS AND HIS SISTER IN LAW ESTHER. HIS BROTHER PTE. WILLIAM ROTHWELL ALSO SERVED & BOTH BROTHERS ARE PHOTOGRAPHED.
