BORN HULL 1879. YOUNGEST SON OF JOSEPH RUDKIN (1833-1899) AND BETSY BURTON (1837-1917). THE FAMILY LIVED AT 8, EDGAR TERRACE, ARUNDLE STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS). HE HAD FIVE SISTERS AND THREE BROTHERS. EMPLOYED AS A GENERAL LABOURER. HE MARRIED ELIZABETH FRISTON, AT HULL, ON 20/01/1916.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. EX 15840, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 2ND SOUTH WALES BORDERERS. HE MARRIED ELIZABETH FRISTON, AT HULL, IN 1916. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 03/12/1917, AGED 39. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HDM 02/01/1918. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WENT TO HIS WIDOW, ELIZABETH HULDENBY, WHO LIVED AT 3 NAGS HEAD YARD, HIGH STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).
HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE CAMBRAI MEMORIAL, Louverval, Departement du Nord, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France.
HE WAS THE UNCLE OF GUNNER, WILLIAM RUDKIN, RGA, OF 12 CHURCH LANE, MARKET PLACE, HULL WHO DIED OF WOUNDS IN HULL, ON 19/10/1918, AGED 23.
