BORN HULL 1886. SON OF ARTHUR RUSHOLME (1863-1954) & ALICE CLUBLEY (1862-1932), OF 8, MELROSE AVENUE, WYNDHAM STREET, HULL & 57 NORWOOD STREET, HULL (ARMY ADDRESS). SON OF A HOUSE PAINTER. HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND ONE SISTER. THREE SONS WERE KILLED IN THE WAR.

HE MARRIED GERTRUDE LEAMING (24/5/1886-1978) AT HULL, ON 28/11/1910, AGED 24. HIS WIFE GERTRUDE & DAUGHTER EVERLYN (BORN 15/09/1911) LIVED 1, KINGSTON TERRACE, HOPWOOD STREET, HULL (ARMY RECORDS ADDRESS). HE WORKED AS A PLASTERER. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 4 INCHES TALL, 36-38 INCH CHEST, 142 LBS WEIGHT.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 09/12/1915. CALLED UP ON 01/06/1916. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 04/12/1916. SERVED WITH THE 7TH EYR. KILLED INA CTION, ON 17/05/1917, AGED 31. COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL. HE HAD SERVED IN THE ARMY FOR 1 YEAR AND 157 DAYS.

HIS WIDOW, GERTRUDE WAS AWARDED A WEEKLY WAR PENSION, OF 18 SHILLINGS AND NINE PENCE, FROM 07/01/1918.

HIS YOUNG BROTHERS, JOHN HENRY RUSHOLME, 1ST EYR AND BENJAMINE RUSHOLEM, 9TH NOTTS & DERBY REGIMENT, WERE ALSO KILLED IN THE WAR.
