BORN HULL 1895. SON OF WILLIAM PERCY & LAURA RUSSELL, OF JESMOND DENE, RUSTENBURG STREET, HOLDERNESS ROAD, HULL. HE WAS EDUCATED AT HULL GRAMMAR SCHOOL. LIVED AT 74 QUEEN STREET, WITHERNSEA, HULL. PRIOR TO WAR, HE WORKED FOR THE NETHERLANDS STEAMSHIP COMPANY, HULL.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH COLONEL SHAW, IN THE 4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. WAS WOUNDED IN THE FOOT AT YPRES IN 1915. HIS PHOTOGRAPH APPEARED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 14TH MAY 1915. * HE TRANSFERRED TO THE 10TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. WAS SEVERLEY WOUNDED AGAIN IN THE FACE, ARM AND LEFT THIGH. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, AT LE TREPORT HOSPITAL, ON 25TH MAY 1917, AGED 22.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 05/10/1917. *
