HE MARRIED ETHEL KATE BRADSTREET (1886-1953), FROM 76, PLANE STREET, HULL, IN 1915.
HE ENLISTED AT COLCHESTER. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 24/04/1915. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 08/12/1915, AGED 29. HE IS BURIED AT MAZINGARBE COMMUNAL CEMETERY, PAS DE CALAIS, FRANCE. HE WAS AWARDED THE BRITISH WAR MEDAL, 1914-1915 STAR AND VICTORY MEDAL.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 17/12/1915.
HE LEFT WIDOW, ETHEL KATE HARDMAN, AT 33, FOLKESTONE STREET, HULL. SHE WAS AWARDED A WEEKLY WAR PENSION OF 15 SHILLINGS, FROM 14/06/1916, FOR HERSELF AND SON SON, ERNEST JEFFERIES (BORN 31/10/1915). THEIR ONLY CHILD ERNEST, DIED ON 31/10/1916. IN SPRING 1919, SHE MOVED TO, 50, ABBOTS ROAD, NEW HEATH, COLCHESTER, ESSEX (WAR PENSION RECORDS).
HIS NAME WAS ADDED TO THE WW1 MEMORIAL AT ST MARY’S CHURCH, SCULCOATES LANE, HULL.
