Searle, William

Born Hull, 2 Dec 1889. Joined the Royal Navy on 13 Jul 1910. In civilian life, he worked as a Rulleyman. Described as 5 foot, 3.5 inch tall, 140 lbs weight, 36 inch chest & good physical development. He enlisted in the 13th EYR, on 13 Jan 1915. Trained at Beverley, Ripon and Shoreham. Served in Egypt and France. Received Gunshot wound to the left shoulder & right elbow, 27 June 1917. Transferred to the Royal Army Medical Corps. Discharged on 20 Jul 1919, with heart trouble.
