BORN HULL 1894. SON OF JOSEPH SEDGEWICK (1868-1940) & THE LATE MARGARET JONES (1857-1918), OF 10 GROSVENOR TERRACE, GROSVENOR STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). SISTERS MABEL & HILDA. AND BROTHER, HARRY. SON OF A POULTRY DRESSER. BEFORE THE WAR WAS A CRANE DRIVER, FOR THE NORTH EASTERN RAILWAYS. HE ENLISTED IN THE 4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT AND WAS KILLED AT YPRES, ON 26/02/1916, AGED 22. HIS NAME WAS RECORDED ON THE PROVIDENCE ROW STREET ROLL OF HONOUR. (HDM 19/09/1916). HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 17TH MARCH 1916. *

HIS ONLY BROTHER, PRIVATE, HARRY SEDGWICK, 71533, ROYAL ARMY MEDICAL CORPS, DIED OF TUBERCULOSIS, ON 09/02/1917, AGED 20, AND IS BURIED IN HULL.
