BORN HULL 05/07/1875. SON OF JOHN WITHERNWICK SIDDLE (1848-1898) AND ANNIE C. SUDDABY (1852-1919). HE MARRIED EMILY HOWSON (1880-1916), AT HULL, IN APRIL 1902. THEY HAD TWO SONS. WHEN HIS WIFE DIED IN 1916, THEIR GUARDIAN WAS HIS SISTER, MRS ALICE E. STANFORD OF 76 ETON STREET, HULL (NAVY RECORDS ADDRESS). HE WORKED AS A STEAM TRAWLER, ENGINEER. LIVED AT 8 CLAIRBROOK AVENUE, ETON STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS).
ENLISTED IN THE ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE. AWARDED THE DISTINGUISHED SERVICE MEDAL (DSM), MENTIONED IN DESPATCHES (MID) AND AWARDED THE BRONZE MEDAL FOR VALOUR (ITALY). KILLED BY MINE EXPLOSION, ON 26/06/1918, AGED 41. HIS BROTHER JONAS SIDDLE, DIED ON 22/11/1919, AGED 31.
