BORN HULL 1894. SON OF THOMAS EDGAR & JANE ANN SIMONS – 3 DUKE TERRACE, MARMADUKE STREET (1911 CENSUS) AND 8 WILFRED’S TERRACE, WESTBOURNE STREET, HULL. A FORMER CRANE DRIVER. HE ENLISTED AT THE START OF THE WAR AND HAD ALREADY BEEN WOUNDED TWICE, THE LAST TIME IN JULY AT THE SOMME. HE HAD ONLY RETURNED FOR 8 WEEKS WHEN HE WAS WOUNDED BY A SHELL AND DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 11/05/1917, AGED 23 .

HIS PHOTOGRAPH WAS PRINTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 13TH OCTOBER 1915. * HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 31ST MAY 1917 WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
