Skelton, Edward Harold

Born Hull 1896. Son of Maud Augusta Rickaby (1872-1958) and Richard Skelton, a butcher, of 188, New Bridge Road, Hull and 26, Rosmead Street, New Bridge Road, Hull (War Pension address).

He was a Butcher’s Assistant. Described as 5’5″, 34″ chest, fair physical development

Enlisted at Hull, on 16/11/1915. Served with the 2/1st East Riding Yeomanry. Discharged with Tuberculosis after 161 days service. Discharged on 26/4/16 – KR para 392 XVI (diagnosed with TB, possibly pre-existing); Pension cancelled Jan 1918; claimed TB was brought on by training, but Major Woodhouse reported that he was “never under canvas & in possession of proper clothing”

He Died 12/04/1918, aged 22.
