Skinn, Albert

Born Hull, 1886. Eldest son of Edward and Emma Skinn, of 7, George’s Terrace, Constable Street, Hull and 55, Campbell Street, Hull (1921 Census). Son of a Grain Warehouseman. He had five brothers and one sister, Lilian.

Married at Hull Registry Office, Parliament Street, on 2 Apr 1910. Husband of Edith Mary Witty, at 59 Wassand Street, Hessle Road, Hull (Army address) and 108, West Parade, Spring Bank, Hull (War pension address). They had three children, Albert, Edith and Irene. He worked as a Waiter. Described as 5 foot, 8 inches tall, 36 inch chest.

He had previously served in the 2/4th EYR and re-joined on  19 April 1916 when time expired. Posted to France, on 19 July 1916. Transferred to The 117th Company, Machine Gun Corps. Too weak for military work. Discharged with Nephritis, on 12 July 1917.

Awarded the Silver War Badge (No; 274384). After the war he worked as a Manager with his wife for T Linsley & Co Ltd, Dagger Lane Hull.

He died in Hull, on 25 Jan 1928, aged 41.
