HE ENLISTED IN AUGUST 1914. SERVED WITH THE 1ST EAST RIDING YEOMANRY. COMMISSIONED INTO THE 9TH DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY, ON 02/04/1915. WOUNDED AT THE SOMME, ON 17/09/1916. HE DIED OF WOUNDS AT THE QUEENS ALEXANDRA MILITARY HOSPITAL, MILLBANK LONDON, ON 16/11/1916, AGED 24.
UNMARRIED. HE LEFT £214 IN HIS WILL TO HIS FATHER, AT THIS PROBATE ADDRESS. HE ALSO LEFT BROTHERS, THOMAS AND SISTER, FLORA.
