Born Yarmouth. He was employed at Percy’s Hotel, Hull and latterly at the Park Hotel, Darlington. Husband of E. M. Lee (formerly Smith), of 22, Bachelor Street, Hull and 22Bright Street, Holderness Rd., Hull (CWGC Address). An old soldier with the Northamptonshire Regiment. He had served seven years in India. Rejoined the regiment on the outbreak of war. Killed by a shell in the front line trenches on 27/02/1917, aged 35 (Hull Daily Mail 31 March 1917). *
He left a widow and two children.
