COMMISSIONED ON 27/06/1917, AS 2ND LIEUTENANT, ATTACHED TO THE 8TH WEST RIDINGS REGIMENT. RETURNED TO FRANCE IN SEPTEMBER 1917. SHOT IN THE HEAD BY A SNIPER, LEADING ATTACK – POECHAPPELLE. ON 09/10/1917, AGED 24.
