HE ENLISTED AT BEVERLEY, ON 25/05/1916. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 26546, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. ARRIVED IN FRANCE ON 10/12/1916. TRANSFERRED TO THE 2ND DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY. WAS AN ARMY SNIPER. DIED OF HEAD WOUNDS, ON 20/05/1917, AGED 19, AT 33RD CASUALTY CLEARING STATION. HE HAD SERVED IN THE ARMY FOR 361 DAYS.
