| Born Hull 1892. Son of Fred & Clara Sowden, of 82, Ryde Street, Hull. His father was a fish merchant. He worked as an Apprentice Boilermaker. Enlisted at Hull, May 1915. Served with the 3rd/1st EYR. Transferred later to the MGC (cavalry). Died 13/10/1918 – dysentery. Buried at Damascus commonwealth war cemetery; HDM 25/10/18 – died aged 26, in Egypt.
