Born Goole, 1895. Only Son of Frederick and Sarah Jane Stephenson, of Thorne, Doncaster and 32, Wheeler Street, Hull (war Pension address). He had three sisters. Worked as a Drapers Errand Lad.
Enlisted at Ripon, Yorkshire. Served with the 2nd Northumberland Fusiliers. Killed in action, on 01/08/1915, aged 20. His grave reads, “IN THE MIDST OF LIFE WE ARE IN DEATH”
