Story, Tom Bartlett

Tom Bartlett Story, RNR

Born 22 November 1890 • Hull, England. Son of Arthur and Mary Elizabeth Story, of 37, Hardy Street, Hull (1921 Census). He had a brother and three sisters. 

Joined the Merchant Navy on 17 Apr 1906. Served in the Royal Naval Reserve during the war. Made Temporary Sub-Lieutenant, on 12 Sep 1916.

Married at Hull registry Office, 1915. Husband of Clara Ellen Jenkinson (1892-1926), of 17, Wolfreton Villas, Anlaby, East Yorkshire & 9, Kings Bench Street, Hull (War Pension address). Died of tuberculosis, on 9 Feb 1924, aged 33.

On 9 Feb 1924 there was a service prior to burial at Boulevard Methodist Church, Hull.

He is buried at Hull Western Cemetery.

His elder brother, William Harold Story (1883-1960), served with the Royal Field Artillery (Northumbrian Brigade) during the war.
