BORN HULL 1895. SON OF HENRY DAVID TAYLOR & SARAH ANNE TAYLOR, OF 8 ALEXANDRIA TERRACE, ADELAIDE STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND 4 PEASE PLACE, PEASE STREET, HULL. SON OF A DOCK LABOURER. HIS OLDER BROTHER GEORGE LIVED AT 1 HOPE TERRACE, WALKER STREET, HULL AND SISTERS, MRS MARY ELLEN STEEL LIVED AT 3 HADDON COURT, PEASE STREET AND MRS ROSE SMITH, AT 7 JAMES PLACE, MASON STREET, HULL. HE WORKED AS AN ERRAND BOY BEFORE MOVING TO LONDON.
HE RESIDED AT WILDE STREET. ENLISTED AT KINGSWAY, MIDDLESEX. SERVED IN THE 1ST MIDDLESEX REGIMENT (DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE’S OWN). WAS AWARDED THE MILITARY MEDAL FOR BRAVERY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 18/07/1918, AGED 27. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, SARAH ANNE TAYLOR AT 27 PEASE STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).
