Taylor, Thomas George

BORN HULL SEPT 1895. SON OF THOMAS TAYLOR (1855-1915) & THE LATE REBECCA SARAH TAYLOR (1868-1910), of 28 GIBSON STREET , HULL AND 6, GREEN LANE, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). ONE OF 13 CHILDREN, SEVERAL OF WHICH DIED IN INFANCY. AN APPRENTICE IRON MOULDER. HE WAS AN APPRENTICE AT PRIESTMAN’S FOUNDRY, WILLIAMSON STREET, HULL.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 7TH EYR, HE HAD BEEN AT THE FRONT FOR NINE MONTHS AND RECEIVED CHEST WOUNDS FROM A BOMB EXPLOSION. HE DIED OF WOUNDS THREE DAYS LATER, AGED 20. HE WAS RECORDED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 13/1/1917. HIS DEATH WAS ALSO REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH ON 25TH FEBRUARY 1916. *
HIS BROTHER PTE, VICTOR TAYLOR, 8TH EYR WAS KILLED ON 04/11/1916.

HE LEFT BROTHERS, ALBERT AND WILLIAM, AND SISTERS, ETHEL, IVY AND KITTY. THE FAMILY MOVED TO 6 GREEN CRESCENT, GREEN LANE, HULL.
