HE MARRIED IN 1901, AGED 21. HIS WIFE, ADA MARION TULLY & 3 CHILDREN, LIVED AT 22 LIME TREE AVENUE, GARDEN VILLAGE, HULL. (NAVAL RECORDS ADDRESS). IN CIVILIAN LIFE HE WAS A RECKITTS WORKER. DECRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 4.5 INCHES TALL, BROWN EYES, BROWN HAIR

ALSO A RESERVIST WITH ELEVEN YEARS SERVICE IN THE NAVY, AND STOKER 1ST CLASS. HE HAD TAKEN PART IN THE STORMING OF THE TAKU FORTS AND HELD THE CHINESE MEDAL. HE WAS RECALLED AT THE OUTBREAK OF WAR AND SAW ACTION IN THE EVACUATION OF ANTWERP. HIS ACCOUNT IS DESCRIBED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 16/10/1914 *

HE DIED OF WOUNDS AT LANCASHIRE LENDING, GALIPOLLI, ON 07/05/1915, AGED 35. COMMEMORATED ON THE HELLES WAR MEMORIAL, TURKEY.

HIS DEATH AND PHOTOGRAPH WERE REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 21ST MAY 1915, AND THE HULL TIMES ON 22ND MAY 1915. *
